Summer Progress Report & Activities
We want to take you through our summer break activities, which were filled with bright smiles and meaningful learning opportunities.
Joy in the Faith
Spiritual growth remains our highest priority. During this past school break, we were overjoyed by the wonderful news that 8 of our children made a personal decision to be baptized!
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19–20)
Christian camp for the children and youth
During the summer break, our children had the wonderful opportunity to attend a "Christian Camp." During the camp, the children enjoyed creative recreational activities, a time of praise and worship to God, and received inspiring insights on living a Christian life. This event was not only a time of fun and relaxation, but also helped them build new friendships with peers within the community, practice social skills, and most importantly draw closer to God.
The smiles and fellowship witnessed at the camp was a true testament to the positive impact of the camp, inspiring them once they returned home, making our house an even better place to live.
Summer Learning and New Skills
Even though school was out, the children remained dedicated to personal development through several activities:
• Academics: Our staff and university-aged students stepped up to tutor the younger children. They practiced reading, math, and general knowledge to get ready for the upcoming school year.
• Music: The children started learning basic guitar skills, using their free time productively and preparing themselves to worship God through music.
After their hard work and study sessions, we organized outings to help the children cool off from the summer heat and spend time together. Our children in the North went camping and enjoyed natural streams, while our children in the South had fun at the beach and water activities. These outings were perfect for recharging.
New kitchen construction
"Phang Nga Home" is another one of our homes, established nearly 20 years ago following the major tsunami in southern Thailand. Due to the local climate, which brings a rainy season that lasts up to six months, which is longer than other regions, and being close to the sea, the houses and buildings deteriorate rapidly. The time has come for major renovations and repairs.
This summer, we launched the New Kitchen Construction Project. It has been a truly heartwarming sight to see our staff and children working hand-in-hand alongside the builder. The project is currently ongoing, and we hope this new kitchen will provide a new and clean space for meal preparation and a wonderful area for everyone to gather.
Monthly Prayer
1. Please pray for our 9 new children: That they will deeply experience God’s love through Christian Happy Home, accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, and grow in His ways.
2. Please pray for the children’s education: Schools have officially reopened this week, marking the start of a new school year.
3. Please pray for the Phang Nga kitchen construction: The project to be completed smoothly and for sufficient funding to cover all expenses.
