Completion of the New Kitchen Project at Phang Nga Home
"Phang Nga Home" is another one of our homes, established nearly 20 years ago following the major tsunami in southern Thailand. Due to the local climate, which brings a rainy season that lasts up to
six months, which is longer than other regions, and being close to the sea, the houses and buildings deteriorate rapidly. The time has come for major renovations and repairs.
This summer, we launched the New Kitchen Construction Project. It has been a truly heartwarming sight to see our staff and children working hand-in-hand alongside the builder.
Previously, the kitchen and meal preparation areas faced structural and functional limitations due to years of heavy use. However, through your generous support and faithful prayers, the construction of our new kitchen was made possible. The project included everything from site preparation, reinforced concrete construction, roofing, ceiling installation, painting, and setting up essential utility systems—including electricity, water supply, sanitation, and proper ventilation.
Project Impact
Building this new kitchen goes beyond structural upgrades; it enhances the functionality and cleanliness for all residents at Phang Nga Home.
Increased Meal Preparation Capacity: The spacious facility and complete set of stainless steel equipment enable staff to efficiently prepare large quantities of food, accommodating future growth.
Long-term Sustainability: A durable, standardized structure minimizes future maintenance and repair costs, allowing the foundation to allocate resources toward other vital child development initiatives.
